"Cordell Carmel's walking in on his girlfriend having sex with another set off a huge midlife crisis - mainly a sexual midlife crisis. As a female reader, the book definitely opens up a view to male fantasies. Not a book I would read again, but it was very interesting to read the thoughts and actions of Carmel and his supporting cast."

"This is definitely a book that shouldn't be read by the coy. Its states on the cover that this is the "sexistential novel" and you definitely might want to be in "sEXILE" and read this on your own. Definitely wanted live vicariously through Cordell Carmell and the life he was leading. A very interesting character to say the least. Definitely a page turner."

"Killing Johnny Fry is a sexy rollercoaster ride!! I have been a fan of Walter’s for years. This book is truly a departure for him--and what an amazing entrée. Killing Johnny Fry is non-stop from the first sentence. Even with the kids, the husband, and the dog...I managed to devour it in 3 days! I was completely drawn into “L’s” life and his life’s awakening. Through Mosley’s lyrical writing style, I “felt” his heartbreak after discovering Jo’s infidelity, and equally his complete confusion as his life spirals into un-chartered waters. The characters that are his shipmates on this life’s voyage are so diverse that I was captivated by each of their stories, yet grounded by their commonality of being his lovers. I must admit I was also mesmerized by the graphic details of Sysypha’s movie and the scene at the club—Walter’s writing is so descriptive that I could see the screen; I was in the ring with Stan—I now feel as if I’ve seen a movie and visited a place I would never have considered going to in real life. The shocking murder of his neighbor...the unexpected way Johnny dies...it was a bigger, badder, sexier ride than even Great Adventure could dream up! An immensely enjoyable page turner!"
